GUN CANADIAN TO JOIN THE EAGLES

In one of the biggest recruiting coup in the history of the North West Pacific Australian Football League the Burnaby Eagles Football Club have received word that an ex gun player is signed, sealed and delivered and primed to play in the next Eagles V’s Cougars local derby. Rumors abound that the Cougars tried their best to sign the recruit, but there was never a chance that he was ever going to be a Cougar. The highly talented and much recruited player did not want to play for the Cougars after discovering that “Glamourboy” Vargo was their Captain. The mercurial recruit goes on to say, “Nothing against Douglas, but I like Captains that wear their hearts on their sleeves, like Stevie Harper. Not their cufflinks on their sleeves like Dougy Vargo.” It’s believed Stuey Grills is still in shock about losing this high profile player to the Eagles and the only response about the affair was his typical, "Yeah that’s just crap fellas." President Hilton is stoked about the new recruit. While trying to keep a lid on his excitement stated, "Things are looking pretty bloody good for the Eagles for the rest of the season.” Stay tuned for more information on the recruit as it comes to hand.

Will the blonde bombshell return from Saskatchewan?

Source: Eagle Eye

Season 2004 NWPAFL season saw blonde gun footballer and Eagle original, Bobby Marshall win the Best and Fairest. Evan “The Wiz” Ozirny took Bobby’s success on board and came into season 2005 looking more like Barney Rubble and Beavis, from Beavis and Butthead, he looked ten years younger, he was much quicker on the field and a bit more buffed, nothing like The Wiz of old. The star Canadian utility sported blonde locks in a desperate attempt to garner some Best and Fairest votes. The Wiz constantly missed training and spent most of his time off the training track as he was at his West End hair stylists, Ben Dover’s Salon. The attention to detail and the constant touch ups administered by Dover saw The Wiz sport a head of hair that would make both Shane Warne and Shane “The Hammer” Heal envious.

When questioned about his look The Wiz went on to say “Season 04 left an empty feeling in my stomach. I felt like fellow brunette quaffed and former Carlton player, Brett Ratten who was the hot favorite to win the 2000 Brownlow Medal. Ratten was pipped at the post by that bloody, bottle, blonde, Melbourne footballer, Shane Woewodin. Much like me in the 2004 with Bobby Marshall. You just have to look at the long list of Brownlow Medalists who have gone blonde in recent times, Shane Crawford, Woewodin and Jason Akermanis. There are three I can name just off the top of my head, not bad for a blondie.” Although The Wiz was unable to achieve his goal in 05 and win the B&F he did go on to receive the Most Improved Canadian award. In summing up his season The Wiz said, “I did alright in the end, winning the award, but I had more success off the field as Kit certainly enjoyed the blonde locks! If you know what I mean”

The question still remains; will The Wiz go blonde in 06?
